MC Lars - This Gigantic Robot Kills
Whether he’s rhyming about classic literature or putting an amusing commentary on the consumerist culture we live in, MC Lars is an artist everyone should appreciate on some level.
His first full album The Graduate featured songs like ‘Ahab’ - an amusing track based on the novel Moby Dick, ‘Download This Song’ - an intelligent reflection on the state of the record industry, and the irony that corporate giants like Sony are the one’s pursuing lawsuits, whilst they too are the ones creating and selling CD-Burners.
This Gigantic Robot Kills is an excellent addition to his back catalogue - especially the title track ‘This Gigantic Robot Kills’ featuring the MC Bat Commander of The Aquabats, whilst adopting a ska sound to accommodate him.
Great album, smart guy - if you’re smart you’ll check him out.
